This. I kind of have to question the sanity of anyone who uses their own money to dine at Mortons and Besh's Steakhouse while dining in N.O.
And I rarely ever complain about restaurant pricing.

Ruth's Chris
By a mile. Only eaten at Morton's twice (two different locations), and neither time did I have a good experience.

I get a feeling lunchbox has money tied up in Ruth's Chris Truth is they are two different ways of skinning the same cat...been to both a few times. They were both good....I'd say my steaks were slightly better at Ruth's (luck of the draw?), but the service fricked up my gf's order at Ruth's (not a huge deal, they fixed it and comped something or other)

That must be why I've yet mentioned them in this thread.

Morton's Canal Place and Chris Fulton are about equal for me. Really won't go to either unless it is for work or somoene gives me gift cards. Order prime strip or ribeye and they are good (much better than shite at Outback). IMO not worth it compared to Doris, Desi, or La Boca or other non-steak places, but a lot of midwest businessmen only eat at chain steak places.

Ruth's in Metairie isn't too bad.

Ruth's drowns their steaks in butter.

And yes I know you can order it dry, but that's really not the point.

Neither would be my first choice. I'd go with La Boca or, frankly Crescent City. If the choice is between Mortons and RC, I'd go with RC.

Or Ruths'

If I was coming to NOLA, neither Morton's or Ruths' would be in my top 100 places.

The Ruth's on Vets has a pretty legit happy hour on weekdays.

ETA: Otherwise, yes I agree.

My point is that there are sooooo many great places in NOLA that I can't see spending money at a chain steakhouse, no matter how good.

Even in a small place like Savannah, I doubt I will ever go unless invited on someone else's tab.

What's the happy hour deal? I haven't been in there since they expanded and renovated the bar area

Metairie location is either 4-6 or 4:30 to 6:30, can't remember exactly. You'd have to call the NOLA one to find out from them.

I have had several bad experiences at Morton's and personally think it is overpriced for average food. Ruth's Metairie is obviously better than the Fulton location.
