Thai.
Thai Pepper is great but they never opened back the buffet after Covid. Thai Kitchen has never been a good option, IMO and they also got rid of the buffet. Rama was the best, I sure do miss it. We need a couple of Thai places like they have in Florida panhandle beach areas. They do tons of to-go business and the food is great.
I wish we had more Indian options in south EBR. All the Indian restaurants are clustered around Coursey.

I do miss the buffet, but I've had Thai from at least 30-40 places all around the country, and I think Thai Pepper is by far the best. Most is over-sauced with mushy veg. Almost like cheap NY style Chinese but with Thai flavors.

A little birdie told me a thai restaurant is opening in a recently vacated building near the Drusilla area. Can't wait.

Sit down Chinese restaurants

There's Duang Tawan on Sherwood Forest at Coursey. I haven't been in probably 5 years, but I remember it being pretty good.

I ordered carry out from Duang Tawan a few weeks ago and it was terrible, I don't know what happened. It was always solid in the past. Thai Pepper was my favorite restaurant in the city but I haven't been back since they stopped the buffet. I just can't get myself to pay 50 bucks for what I used to be able to get for 10.

Would be nice to have Indian food closer to the center of town, and of course good Chinese food.

From reading this forum it sounds like the pizza blows arse. It’s a recurring topic, not just a recent theme. Maybe start there.
Can’t imagine the level of abhorrent pizza reading threads here over the years.
That's what you get for listening to the idiots who simply enjoy bashing Baton Rouge

Tap 65 is obviously a non-traditional vibe, but the Indian food is actually quite good. If you haven't given it a shot, you should.

I think Tap 65 is nice, but I made the mistake of eating there the same week I tried Swagat for the first time. Bad idea. There is no comparison - granted I don't think they're trying to.

No doubt. Swagat is on a different level. But if you’re looking for Indian mid city, Tap 65 is solid. Also, sneaky underrated brunch spot.

Swagat is fricking awesome. That’s another buffet I wish they’d bring back

Unfortunately, I’m not aware of a single Indonesian restaurant between Houston and Atlanta

We settled for Domino’s and it was disgusting.
You’re a fricking idiot. I can’t think of a single reason- short of starvation- that anyone would order Domino’s. The shittiest frozen pizza from a damaged box out of a 70 degree freezer in a sketchy Timesaver would be better than Domino’s.
