I wasn't, but my first time there was when I was 17 and a senior in high school. Had my first Tom Collins there. It was an out of town date. We had dinner and then went to see The Godfather when it was first released. Good times.

tl;dr - Dear Facebook

That's like the idiots that always add an "s" to Zea

Why is it so fricking hard?

Is LaFonda still a bustling social scene on Thursday nights? I recall around 2002 or so it was jamming with a good crowd on Thursday nights.

Most definitely. Still going strong. Lafayette baws don't change

Sometimes the crowd rolls over into Social right across the side street

I call it Lafonda's and Zea's.

But make fun of those that refer to Walmart's.

I hope so. Many times during the late 70s and early 80s one of my law partner and I would go to Friday lunch there. We could never get seated until about 2:30 or 3:00 pm. Many of our clients were there. Had too margaritas to do any work after that - about four o'clock would call the wives to meet us. Drink a few more 'ritas and have dinner about seven. Ah, those were the days (oil boom times).

I imagine it has to do with restaurants being traditionally named for a person, so you were going to that person's restaurant. People are just accustom to saying it.

Those were the good old days for sure. The newer generations don't know how to have fun anymore. They're too worried about looking fat on social media.

That's Cuban food. Their food is decent but the Mojitos are where its at.

La Morenita and Carniceria el Ranchito are the only places I've found that have authentic Mexican in Lafayette.

It like Walmart’s and Kmarts.

La Fonda means the kitchen. It’s not The Kitchen’s.
