Have a upcoming work trip in Guadalajara ...going to be there for one night.

Staying at the Westin.

Anyone have any food recs?

Will be able to rip a dinner + breakfast/lunch before I have to fly out.

Looking for a fine dining spot for dinner + a dank lunch spot

Had a great time in Monterrey previously so excited to check this city out.

You are going to get a lot of crap responses on here. Should post it on the food board.

I went to Guadalajara for business a few years ago. There is cartel violence there but it is limited to violence against people associated with the cartel or drugs in general. Violence against tourists is not prevalent. We stayed in the Andares area in the north part of the city in the Hyatt Regency Andares. It is a high class shopping area where I regularly saw Lambos, Ferraris, Bentleys, Brabus SUV ($500k), etc.

L'Osteria del Duomo and their flaming ribeye. Cooked on a Himalayan salt block at your table and flames up as they pour grappa on it. Also La Vaca Argentina. There are several other restaurants on that strip leading up to the hotel with lots of security.

It's probably a bit of a trip for you but, just wanted to share my experience.

Also BEWARE of the airport departures area. Make sure to bring bug spray or wipes if you can. There are mosquitoes EVERYWHERE. And of course, don't drink tap water.

Good luck on getting all the plazas to re-unite under your control, Jefe.
