meribo Covington, review

dinner for two Saturday night
we’d only been there once before shortly after it opened, despite eating out in Covington quite often. Hammond’s pizza options are pretty deplorable so we finally went back
salad, two pizzas, one cocktail, three beers, 100 bucks. Obviously the beverages put it over the top of a basic dining tab but I was thirsty
Caesar salad was good, nothing special. The pizzas looked the part (one white, one red) and the crust was outstanding. The flavor profiles of the toppings though were odd. The arugula pizza was better than the pork/collard pizza…the collards gave the pie a weird almost fishy taste. We ate all of the former and took half the latter home.
the dining room might be the loudest local place I’ve ever been, and it was freezing cold inside. Couple that with the metal patio chairs at the tables and it was just a very uncomfortable environment and made it hard to enjoy the food.
So, good enough but not exceptional and certainly not as good as greyhound which has better pizza and is much more enjoyable for about the same money

I’m surprised Meribo has continued to stay in business for this long. It’s a poor dining experience with okay food.

Pretty much nailed it. Meribo's food is decent but not really good. The dining room is awful and you can hardly have conversations at the table sometimes because of how loud it is. The chairs are terrible. They redesigned it a couple of years and my understanding was that they were trying to fix that whole thing, but I'm not sure how that went off the rails. Greyhound's pizza is much better. We don't ever go there.

I love Gavin! I’m not a big pizza person so I don’t go for that, but anything I’ve had has been good. As far as the noise, I typically sit at the bar top so noise doesn’t bother me

Agreed, we went once and everything from service to food to atmosphere was very meh. Will never go back, too many great options on the NS.

#burnitdown right cgrand? Not a huge leap to think she’s a BLM supporter.

No brussels sprouts for me! Pizza Man in Covington is the place to go to if I want pizza. That along with an ice cold mug of beer!

Once you cancel a certain few restaurants, does Covington have any good eats left?

who fricking cares?
once the money leaves my wallet and I got what I paid for I have no reason to care where it goes after that
it must be miserable going thru life like that

Covington has excellent eats for a smaller town.

Happy hour is the way to go there. Keep it simple when ordering, some of the menu just doesn’t work. They could polish some things up and it would be a lot better.
That area is ripe for a good, NY style pizza place. Tower of pizza, pizza delicious type place

The Pizza Man but it is a little out outside of downtown

Who cares? At least 2 people in this thread. I would never actively seek out the political views of a business owner but if I hear something like this why the hell would I support them? We have a bunch of good restaurants in the area, no reason to give her my business.

Considering we are talking about not very good ones here, the answer is a resounding yes.

Lester sips his lattes with both pinkies extended after dining at The Supper Club. Pay no mind to his shenanigans on here

Feel like pizza man is a more nostalgia type place for Covington people. Only had it once though. Looking for better toppings and crust
