If you have fond memories of the fondue restaurant Melting Pot, there could be good news bubbling up soon.

The Tampa-based chain is in expansion mode after buckling down during the pandemic, and the company has a return to New Orleans in its sights for what could be multiple new locations here.

Melting Pot CEO Bob Johnston said in an interview that the company is in discussion now with prospective franchise operators for New Orleans restaurants and is actively seeking more.

New Orleans was home to a Melting Pot location for 12 years. It closed in 2018, and a Baton Rouge location followed suit later that year.

Went to the one in BR 3 or 4 times and always left hungry. I'll stick to Golden Corral.

We had/have a Melting Pot here in Greensboro. I went years and years ago with my wife and a group.

It's actually a fun and interesting way to have a meal and hang out.

The meal also takes forever. I seem to remember ours lasting like 2 hours. They bring out the food in batches with a lot of time in between.

I sorta like this. The restaurant NOLA deserves.

Food too cold?
Food too hot?
Food under cooked?
Food over cooked?
Too salty?
Too spicy?
A hair in your food?

Bitch, you cooked it!

They had a prime spot on St. Charles. Wonder if they’re going to downtown or uptown location when they return.

Is this the type of restaurant that was outside of Folsom many moons ago? I’m not interested in sitting shoulder to shoulder at long picnic tables with people I don’t know. Food is one thing, but I want my space.

No. Each table is individual. It was actually a big date spot.

I went once in Baton Rouge. Mediocre, vastly overpriced food driven by a gimmick that's only (mildly) interesting once.

My buddy got fired from the BR location because he cleaned the tables all night with 151 instead of disinfectant

Apparently they were in the same spray bottle

I went to it once. It’s more of an experience restaurant. Food is meh. Women like it but I would never voluntarily go again.
