When I make chili I also use small chunks of beef cubed in it along with the cooked down ground meat.

This is me as well. Small sugar cube-size pieces of beef and sometimes pork too. Only time I want it with no lumps or chunks is for hot dog chili.

So are y'all meticulous mashers or do you really not care?

Add me to the meticulous meat masher club.

It's important to be careful with how you handle your meat after all.

I used to use a wooden spoon, but I got something like this at Walmart and it's pretty sweet.

Yours is a nicer version of mine above. I may need to upgrade!

I absolutely mince up my ground meat a bit for sauces, tacos, and chili. But, I don't get technical with it... A good ole spatula does the trick. I'm not suggesting taco Bell meat but just a tad above it. I don't want chunks of ground meat in my food unless it's a Patty, meatball, or meatloaf.

Since a couple posts have pics of mass produced meat masher kitchen tools, I think it's safe to say: you're not weird.

I wish we received notifications when someone replies to a post. Not only did I miss your response, I must've been blind when I looked at this thread initially because I didn't see you'd posted the same gadget I use. D'oh!

you are the weirdo. OCD whackjob.

However I agree no clumps.

But I don't eat no stinkin' chili. You can keep all of that.

And I prefer meatballs with marinara to meat sauce with pasta.

I think I am schizophrenic because sometimes I mash it up and other times I don't.

Shut up M2!

I don't have to if I don't want to. Especially if I use smallish cubes of beef, like in chili.

I SAID SHUT UP!

Jees, you can't order me around! I like chili grind, too and regardless of what he says, I have a right to state my opinion.

NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ANYTHING!

Pound salt loser!

YO MOMMA!

NO Yo Momma!

No Yo MOMMA.

Let's just agree to disagree!

Whatever....
