Wife is a West Banker. No pics. She loves Manda Sausage because she grew up on it. I am more partial to the smoked sausages of South Louisiana.

What are the board's thoughts on Manda?

Manda is a small step up from jimmy dean, hillshire farms etc.

Much better sausage out there.

They serve Manda at Kent's kajun kitchen in Madison. I like it ok but guessing there is better stuff out there.

What Cosmo said. Now if you eat jambalaya at the Jambalaya Festival it's what you eat. They are a sponsor and the competitors have to use it.

I thought Verons was the sponsor out there? It's a shame if they aren't. Lot better mass produced sausage IMO.

If they are it was from this year. For as long as I remember it's been Manda. I've heard some competitors complain. But frankly I'd put it in the same category as Verons and Richards. All about the same to me.

Get the pork with green onion, it's legit, the beef and non green onion are all lacking.

That's one way to tell when eating Manda. My teeth always take a beating from Mandas bones and oyster pearls...

Manda's is the worst of the mass-produced Louisiana products, but it beats the pants off of the national brands. Veron's and Martin's are the best widely available that I've had. Beniot's and Chris's are the best local that I've tried.

Manda is basically a hotdog, it's horrible. I like Richards, Martin, or Veron

I have been known to eat this sausage, but only on Saturdays with 92000 of my closest friends.

It's not Manda's best product.

The family that runs Manda's are very good citizens locally. They do indeed hire some high risk types, but they also offer them adult education and vo-tech opportunities as well. Manda's is a good company. Their sausages just can't compete with the local brands made in smaller batches the same way Miller Brewing is to many micro-brewers.

I use Richards and whatever I can get from Ville Platte when I drive through there. VP Pork Sausage is legit.
