exactly.

Nobody is saying Manda is the best. It's not.

But, at it's cheap 5lb box price point what is clearly better?

I find Bryan's to be, sadly, a far superior mass-produced product.

They're usually at about the same price point.

I've never had any. If I'm looking to save money some Bar S hot dogs will do the trick.

really? even in a jambalaya, or just on the grill?

Having lived in Starkville for a bit i get bad flashbacks of driving by the Bryan pork rendering facility in West Point, MS and soaking up the smells....

I haven't ventured from Manda or Bryan for smoked sausage (usually hot smoked sausage). Both are ok, imo, but I guess I need to try something different. What is the best available sausage at like a Rouses grocery?

Martin's Hot is my choice. Gonna try the Veron's though after seeing the above post.

Probably get run out of here for this, I haven't seen anything about Double D Smoked Sausage.
Made in Washington Parish, IMO the best mass produced sausage.

When I cook for a crowd. I but the cheapest 4 or 5 pound box. Sometimes Double D, sometimes Manda, sometimes Richard. When I cook for myself, I go small batch.

I'll tell the Jamabalaya Festival that.

But Manda's worked just fine for them for years

I don't doubt that's what they use east of the basin. I'll keep using the real stuff.

That place has one hell of a funk about it....I can still see the forklifts going into the trucks to get out the last few "raw materials" for processing...
