Professor, you’re not going to believe me, but Jason’s Deli has pretty decent PO-Boy buns and muff rolls for sale. All locations. I’d didn’t believe it either.

I've been known to occaisionally make a muffaletta on good French bread.

One of my go-to sandwiches when eating at Liuzza's on Bienville in Mid-City is their "Frenchuletta".

Basically what you have there but lightly toasted to add more crunch to the great French bread they use and slightly melt the cheese. The wife and I will split one and I have mine with one of those heavy duty frozen mugs of ice cold beer.

That is good to know Sidetrack.

Will check it out. Publix bakery is where I've been going. Good po-boy substitute is really hard to find around here.

That looks tasty as hell! I wish I liked them.... I like olives and all the meats in the sandwhich. But something in the tapenade or mix I can't stand in most of them.

There's tons of recipes to make your own and not rely on the commercially made stuff if you find it unpleasant. Figure out the ingredients you don't like and omit them.

You're missing out on a great sandwich for a simple to fix reason.

My favorite is R & O's mix. It's not quite as chunky and it has a kick to it. I buy containers of it when I go there.

For me I love the chunky like Central Grocery makes it.

As for the Olive Salad and the making, I’m sure Pokie would have a few pointers.

Had lunch with Pokie today. They had their own recipe. Some use black olives, some add capers. His recipe was made by a private vendor. Companies would often come in for a taste test, Pokies brand had been accidentally put in the taste test. It was picked out as the best.
