Going here for the first time. What is the dress code like? Should I wear a jacket?
Posted on 6/17/23 at 1:16 pm to chryso
Jacket isn’t required. Just don’t wear jeans and you should be fine.

It is not required. That said, I do. It’s a nice place and I like to dress accordingly,

I feel the same way. Thanks.

We've been a few times. I just wear slacks/khakis and a button-down shirt. I've never felt underdressed.

No jacket required. Cash is.
Enjoy your evening, the food there is great!

I don’t think it’s cash only anymore. Went in December with just a CC.

Buy a bottle of their dressing. I don't know what it costs these days, but it's worth. It's so simple, but tasty. I love marinating cooked fresh asparagus in it for salads.

Is it still owned and operated by the same husband and wife (the chef) from decades ago?

Yes

The current chef was in training with the original chef and is married to the daughter of the original owners. She is the waitress.

No, but a pair of nice jeans is a must.

Is it a running joke among your friends to downvote you? Serious question. I know a few of your friends that post here and they all like you. And your posts are good.
I need answers!

Thanks.
I remember that the wife/chef was Asian but was raised and trained in Paris. The food and ambience were great, last I was there in the early 90s. Glad to hear it's still going strong.

go while you can ... and wear a jacket. You will look and feel better.

We went in February for our anniversary and it was cash or check only.

My dad went there when it first opened and apparently made a scene because he didn’t understand why a French restaurant didn’t have French fries

FYI, it was cash or check only. I did wear a jacket and was not the only one wearing one. I got the filet beurre rouge and the wife got the flounder. For an appetizer we got the soupe St Tropez. All were excellent.
The couple next to us got engaged.

So weird. I wonder if they begrudgingly take cards when customers didn’t know or something
We definitely used a card.
