+1, I wish they were open on Sundays.

Another good one. Magazine Po-Boy Shop is crinimally underrated especially for the roast beef. Tracy's is only two block away and gets a ton of praise, but IMO Magazine is a much better roast beef. I like how they put it in the oven after it is made to allow the bread to heat and slightly crisp.
So, that joint is making their own roast beef now?
I last ate there years ago, and swore it off since, as I got deli roast beef on a po-boy, which I find to be a deal killer for me.

The club at Mahoneys is good too.

I went there for lunch on Tuesday and I think I'm hooked. Best Pho I've had so far (including Jasmine Cafe, Magasin and Pho Orchid on Vets in Metaire).

Joey K's is fine, but its pretty forgettable.
The weather is suppose to be nice this weekend, so you could look for outside dining. Cochon Butcher is a great spot for lunch. Barcadia is a good spot if you're looking to walk from Garden Dist. towards the Quarter or Warehouse dist. They have their great Curbside burgers everyone here talks about.

I have them ranked better than all those places too.

Jeeze. I've never seen a place that's looked like it's 'just about to open' for so damn long.
My bad.
I guess they wanted to let the frenzy of the super bowl and mardi gras die down, to go ahead and open their hamburger joint, right when a lot of the locals swear off eating red meat for 40 days.

Do you have any other recommendations besides the Spicy Shrimp? It's all I've had so far.

It's only like $9 too. Very reasonable price for what you get.

Never had that problem.

The prices at Mahoney's are just laughable, outside of a few standard poboys (which they do well). The service has gone to absolute shite too.

It's hard to order anything else but I've had the beef pho and the spring rolls with the strawberries.

That's why I call them richboys. When you have a $23 poboy you kinda of missing the point. Granted I know the guy is using the best ingredients, but it's hard to buy any of the seafood there.

Royal House in the FQ. Their oyster BLT poboy is rock solid along with their seafood platter, grilled mahi, and raw oysters. Don't know if you want to be in all the madness that is the FQ on Mardi Gras weekend but id do it for the oyster BLT there

frick Mahoney's
Just go to Tracey's. They will have the big doors open with the breeze blowing in. Grab a bloody, wait for your food, and enjoy.

My oyster poboy was excellent. I haven't forgotten it.

I haven't seen this place mentioned here, but I've heard about it quite often lately and particularly for the chargrilled oysters. Anyone else been there?

The firecracker shrimp at Parasol's is excellent, as well. I would much rather have a drink in Tracey's though

Herbsaint is still taking reservations and will also be open for Sunday night dinner for Bacchus with reservations per a Facebook posting a little while ago.
