I have not found any fresh tail meat these days but some do have frozen. Try La Boilers, jimbos or tramontes in that area. Be prepared to pay out the nose for them.

Tony's has frozen for 10.99.

Hi Nabor didn't have any last week. Reeve's is 16.99 this week for frozen.

Most Wal-Marts have great vacuum packed frozen tails in the shrimp section. They are about $7

I think Matherne's at Bluebonnet/Perkins had some a few days ago--fresh for $17.99/lb--YIKES!

ETA: Just because it says "Boudreauxs" doesn't mean it's from around here. Apparently there are some Chinese crawfishermen named Boudreaux too.

Check the label carefully if you really want Louisiana tails.

This is the product sold at walmart. It is definitely not a louisiana product.

Please do not buy Chinese. Support the local folks and, they are nasty, anyway. Those Bernard's are gross. I detected them in a dish someone made. I could tell the difference and stopped eating. I get really angry when someone tries to serve me Chinese seafood products.

I've seen LA tails at Sam's. I don't recall the price, but they weren't as high as some folks are reporting, above. I bought some at a grocery store a few weeks about for about 10 or 11 bucks. Can't recall which one, though.

I think Sam's had them frozen recently for about 10 or 11 dollars too.

The ones I saw at Matherne's were high because they were fresh, which are going to run pretty high at this time of year.

SPAIN???? You're kidding me. That's a black mark on them. I'm sad to hear that.

Right now fresh crawfish tails are non-existent pretty much. In another week or two crawfish tails will start showing up. The crawfish peelers will not peel much when everything they get can be sold live not to mention how high the prices are right now.

By the way, I was at Sam's this evening and crawfish tails were $17.49/lb not $10-$11 like some people suggested. And they are $17.49 for frozen. Didn't see any fresh there.

I saw some at Matherne's on Highland this evening. Didn't notice the price but they were fresh LA tails.

I'm afraid people should just swear off crawfish dishes completely unless they prep them at home IF they wish to avoid imported crawfish. That product is overwhelmingly used in commercial kitchens and it doesn't matter what time of year it is...simple economics at work.
