I love the burger and fries, the only thing I hate is the wait service. Shouldn't this place be more order at the bar kind of place? I don't understand how they have a pool table and darts, yet when you want a beer ya have to go back to your table to order one. At certain bars/restaurants I like getting up and getting a beer from the bar. Yes I did get shorty service this past Monday night. The waiter I had was either smoking outside or sitting at the bar and eye fricking the manager sitting next to her watching tv. But dam
good burger

I keep hearing horrible things about the wait staff here.

Not many good things about the food either; you're one of the few I can remember that said the food was great.

I like the food, they've definitely got some good options. Service is definitely hit or miss. I've had great service and horrible service.

Yea, I've never been, that's just the general idea of what I have heard so far.

The burger and the chicken n chips and suprisingly chips n salsa were the only things I've had and liked. Being Louisiana, stay clear of the fish (cod) n chips. It's if the bulldog had a waitstaff, just wouldn't make sense.

I went to the Londoner with a friend of mine who is from Wales and she had some of my fish n chips and said they were pretty good/authentic.

+1 on the fish and chips, quite tasty.

also, as stated earlier, the chips and salsa is surprsingly good.

enjoyed the burger as well, have yet to find something i dont like there..

no complaints on the wait staff but i usually just sit at the bar to watch some soccer.

I left my server 40% the last time I was there. No issues, although yes, it is awkward if you want to play darts that you end up in another waiter's section.

The burger can be good, and I like the fish and chips.

Yeah the wait staff is hit or miss. I has this one guy once and he was super friendly and helpful and really knew his stuff and that was right when they opened. I love love love the burgers, but it's like going to burger king... I like burger king better than mcdonalds, but I only go to burger king when I feel like putting up with mediocre service. Except that one guy, I loved him! Oh and I agree, their chips and salsa are really good! The place just feels kinda creepy and incomplete. I keep going back for that damn delicious burger!!!!!

i've never been there either, i don't live in the area...but i looked up their menu when the numerous threads about the place starting springing up...why would they put cheese in the "shepherds" pie? some things are better not being americanized.

Yeah, British food being so acclaimed and all...

What a mind blowing stretch...Americanizing British food.

yeah, cuz you couldn't just say you disagree... i find shepherds pie tasty enough as is, at least the way i make it...is it a big deal, no...but personally, i have an issue with any restaurant that adds cheese to everything. lazy...

Fwiw...the one time I had shepherds pie at the Londoner, it was pretty tasty comfort food. I'd get it again if I could ever get away from the Newcastle stew or the burger.

it really is!

and yet, i had morons on here say "sorry, your grandma must have sucked as a cook"...because she grew up in the depression and didn't add every vegetable, spice and herb in the world to her chicken and dumplings...people are really stupid when it comes to food...and it's pathetic that they believe that it makes them superior somehow.
