Lobster isn't for just New Year's Eve anymore. If a poster would like to buy live lobster in BR this time of year, who has them available? Just talking about 2~3 depending on size.

The new Asian store at Florida/Sherwood carries tons of live lobsters. It's the old Hancock Fabrics location.

I’ve truly never heard of this as being a thing.

I’ve always considered lobster to be a summer food.

For the Northeast this is absolutely true. Lobsters are mostly boiled/steamed outside. Can't cook outside in Maine in Dec (I guess you could but not fun). Also probably most of the fresh catch in summer as the fishing boats are running more frequently.

I order my lobster directly from the fisherman in Maine.

The only way to do it is order from Maine. The lobsters in the tanks at our grocery stores just suck.
