Liuzza's By the Track in NOLA

I was introduced to this place several months ago. I live near BR, so don't get there often but had lunch there again yesterday.
Love their gumbo; a little spicy and seems to have some tomato in it in some form. Match that with their half an oyster poboy and Im not sure of a meal that can beat it.
I also recently tried Park Place and the other Liuzza's. Both were good, but I much prefer By the Track.

Liuzza’s consistently ranks as one of my favorite restaurants around New Orleans, and therefor, the World.

Park Place? Are you talking ab parkway?
Liuzzas by the track is a great classic neighborhood spot. Good food/cold beer

Their BBQ shrimp and an ice cold beer in a fishbowl mug is killer

You're correct, I meant Parkway.

The one on Bienville is superior.

They have weird hours. I've never heard of a bar that serves food and closes at 7:30 every night.

I get your complaint, but that's the advantage of owning your own biz... make your own hours.
Good to know though.

That's the only Liuzza's I've ever been to, drank their draft beer in those heavy "fishbowl" mugs and eaten a good bit of their menu over the years.
Having never been to the one by the track, I can't say one is superior than the other, but I do know you'd have to be one hell of a place to beat the one on Bienville.

Fat kid special: paneeed chicken topped with roast beef and gravy.
