My 75 year old mother requested Cafe Du monde beignets for her birthday this Sunday. I'm sure everyone will want a light lunch. I'd like to stay around that area.

Assuming you are walking and assuming you don't want to walk far since it's 117 degrees outside with your 75 yr old mother:

Stanley
Muriel's

ETA: Tableau and Sylvain are very close, but I have not been to either.

I've enjoyed the Gumbo Shop in the past and it is not far from Cafe Du Monde

Gumbo Shop.

If you're going with your 75 year old mother, then I would HIGHLY suggest going to the CDM that just opened in City Park instead of the FQ.

Much more accessible and in a beautiful setting.

MidCity and the City Park area has plenty of eateries where you can get a light meal. The Museum of Art has an eatery inside.

With the bonus that you can stroll through the Museum's recently expanded sculpture garden before or after your beignet binge.

Central Grocery. Get a few quarters and eat them in a shady spot somewhere.

Go to the Cafe du Monde at Oakwood and take her to Jason's Deli after.

It’s August, 90 degrees even in the shade. Don’t take a 75 year old lady for a picnic in the FQ.

Are you drunk or stupid?

Op I agree with others who suggest the City Park location and a lunch in that area

Chef Pete Vazquez’s Appetite Repair Shop. Although, it may not count as a restaurant since it’s purely takeout.

Food’s really good. Name is very cringey.

Title was formerly held by Sammich, of course.
