well I don't know your specific tastes. my favorites are
Koz's / red beans & rice w/ smoked sausage or the bbq ham poboy add provolone
Hickory Cafe / uptown chicken sandwich or any of their daily specials which are on point

Are the beans better than Rivershack?

I wasn't enamored with Hickory the one time I went. May have ordered wrong, ordered some veggie sandwich. I'll give it another shot.

Moved near the area about a year ago. Kim Ahn's has been one of my favorites. Still haven't tried Koz's. The BBQ place isn't bad. Hickory grill is great too. Will be home more in the short future so will get to try many of these out.
