I can only drink wine on certain occasions. Like with a nice dinner, or while winding down with the wife at night in the backyard.
Drinking wine while watching football just seems off to me. But if you like it, by all means

Don't look for Chilean Chianti, because it doesn't exist. I don't want to come across like a douchbag but Chianti is a region in Italy. Forget about cigars and wine. Cigars go with scotch and bourbons if you drink wine with a cigar you will taste nothing. And because you are new to wine, go with some pinot noirs, then some zinfandels, then syrahs, then cabs/merlots. Most of the italian reds are more food wines or for someone who wants big reds.

ps if anyone has a chance to try any gnarley head wines, do it. They're great. Guy at the liquor store recommended it and it did not disappoint.

Honestly, I grew up drinking wine with meals when I was a kid. Drank coffee as well. I think that's pobablly more the norm than not with many people who grew up in Louisiana around more of a French influence. Not at all unheard of, but for some reason this strange He-man bullshite began seeping into this area and making it odd for men to drink wine. I blame it on the damn Mississippians and all their weirdness.
