Is this related to Lee's Drivein in Hammond?

No, related to Lee's in Metairie on Vets.
I love their burgers, haven't had one in years.

different but they fill the gap between a near $20 burger meal and a $10 one

There are so many burgers that fall in this price range that are ridiculously good. This is seriously the price range for all the best burgers in the city. If that's Lee's and Bud's competition, they are woefully inadequate.

Those places are better compared to a 3 am Taco Bell run.

Agreed. Buds is great at 3am and you can pound some greasy burgers and wake up smelling like a grease ball instead of an ashtray after the night out But some of my fellow friends from Nola simply overrate the shite out of it

Perhaps you didn't read where I actually made a comparison to Taco Tico and admitted it wasn't the same meal. I probably overestimated the cost so that didn't become the topic of conversation. Last I checked, a Bud's Burger with chili cheese fries and a drink will run you about $10. Lee's is probably just a little more but I'd go onion rings at lee's. The other, better burgers are only close in price if you consider the burger alone. The next step down from there is McDonald's or Burger King so whatever, tons of us love it and for good reason.

Catman, yes, it's the same chain. I've only been to the one on Vets in Metry and on 22(?) in Mandeville but it's been awhile because I moved to Houston for work. I have a Bud's convenient to how I leave NOLA when I visit my family and my wife and I always make it our last stop.

They opened their BR location today with a limited menu. They said they will have the full menu tomorrow. I was very satisfied with my first taste of it this evening.

Truth. They were in the little shopping center in the northwest cloverleaf at Florida and Airline.
