Laplace To Lutcher Restaurant Recs

Me and a couple friends of mine will be at the Lutcher playoff game Friday night. We were talking about maybe trying to grab a bite to eat somewhere before the game so we’re not having the same old stadium food. None of us are picky eaters just looking for a good spot with good food. Can anyone give me some ideas? I thought about Gonzo’s even though it’s out of the way but they’ll be closed when we’re coming through.

Did they reopen from the storm? I thought I read a while back that they were closed. I’d love to pick up some andouille for gumbo if they’re back up and running.

Ah, maybe so. Haven't been since before the storm.

Go across the street to the original Verons Supermarket and get you some smoked sausage.

Pier 51 in Laplace is good.

Mabiels on Airline in Laplace is a great dive of a po-boy shop.

Mabile's on airline has some of the best poboys around...get you ferty and/or shrimp and you'll be in good shape.

Wayne Jacob's is not open yet. In LaPlace - Mabile's is a bit of a dive but the food is fantastic. Pier 51 also pretty solid. Some folks really like Petra but I didn't care for it.

Where you coming from?

Folsom so down through Robert and down 55. Thought about Middendorf’s but probably going to be going through there a little early. Also hate to go there and not sit outside. Supposed to be cold so not eating outside.

I’d hit Roux and Brew if it’s open. Nothing worth it in Laplace.

I live in Baton Rouge but work in Laplace.

Thanks for the recommendations. It was my buddies birthday so I treated him to Nobile’s in Lutcher. The special was fried fish and shrimp over angel hair with a cream sauce. It was a pretty good meal and he really liked the atmosphere. He builds old hot rods for a living and loves the patina look. Nobile’s was the kind of place he liked.

Sadly a lot of the better places around are only lunch spots.
Mabiles right off airline in Laplace isn't a bad option. Great poboys there. Always have a couple of rotolos around the area
