It’s definitely old school with chunks of liver and parts. I still get it but if in the area usually go for Best Stop

Poche's in Breaux Bridge and its not even close!!

Friday Menu:

Fried Fish, Fried Shrimp, Fried Fish Patties, Crawfish Etouffee, Crawfish Fettuccine, Chicken Stew, Hamburger Steak, Baked-Stuffed Catfish, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw

But I much prefer the Saturday Menu:

Pork Backbone Stew, BBQ Ribs, BBQ Chicken, Stuffed Pork Chops, BBQ Ribeyes, Fried Fish, Fried Shrimp

Your side of: Green Beans, Cheesy Corn Grits with Tasso, Fried Potato Wedges, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw

The pork backbone stew (roux based) is excellent!!!

Oh boy, I-10 through Acadia, Lafayette and St. Martin Parishes for lunchtime is a target rich environment. Close your eyes, throw a rock, and stop at the first non-fastfood place your hit.

My favorites within a mile of the interstate along those stretches:

PJ's in Crowley
Rascal's
Kartchner's
Nunu's and Uncle T's might be a little over mile off, but probably not by much
Fezzo's
Rochetto's (pizza and pasta joint owned by the Fezzo's brothers)
BZ's Underground Bistro
Hot Food Express
Poche's

Thanks for all the replies.

We had narrowed it down to Gabe’s in Rayne on the way out and Poche’s on the way home.

Had to meet someone in Lake Charles and they wanted Steamboat Bill’s. Was okay. Nothing special.

Hope Poche’s works out on the return.

I'm too late to the party to recommend Glenda's Creole Kitchen.

We ate at Poche's yesterday and it was very good.

BBQ chicken and BBQ pork steak. Lots of food. Brought half of it home.

I counted about 15 people working there. Was definitely worth the stop.

We hope to try Glenda's and Gabe's on another trip.
