Maybe they do maybe they don't. Frankly, they fricking should bc one of the best food cities in the world lies an hour south. I fricking drive to Cajun country to get my fix. I plan weekends in Houston and Atlanta for my ethnic fix. So either someone from BR is content to eat ruffinos or la lagniappe and think it's the greatest restaurant ever or they enter reality and get serious about food and get their asses down I-10.

TA...I can't think of a single New Orleans restaurant that open up a location in Baton Rouge and did well....Copeland's frachises excluded....May guess is it takes more to frachise out than just the name.

Galatoire's will do a lot better in their new location.

They seem to be holding their own...but I give that credit to them moving the restaurant to Baton Rouge after Katrina....They did not have to trane staff and chefs.

FWIW, I subscribe to the idea that BR residents support NOLA restaurants more than NOLA residents want to admit.

Absolutely. I don't understand the tension or rivalry to be quite honest, generally speaking.

Would not the old Chalet Brandt/ABE/LaLou Jefferson digs, or somewhere along Esplanade Blvd, between the Jefferson and Perkins crowds, near Marriott and the hotel/extended stay strip, be a more ideal spot?

It would be a much more ideal spot, IMO.
