We can't find Mortons kosher salt at Rouse's, WD, Albertson's, WM. What the hell is more plentiful than salt.

Stupidity. And there’s no shortage of that.

Does kosher salt taste different than regular salt or is this a religion thing

Kosher salt, sea salt, none of it is iodized like Morton’s iodized salt

It has more to do with the size of the flakes and the composition of the salt for me.

Kosher salt crystals are larger and easier to pinch than iodized salt and most (not all) kosher salts are free of anticaking agents (Morton's contains yellow soda of prussiate).

Also, iodine was added to salt because many people around the world had iodine deficiencies and developed goiters as a result. Now, people get enough iodine in trace amounts from seafood, eggs, and the water supply, therefore it is unnecessary for most people to use iodized salt.

I will say that iodized salt is the best salt for French fries and most other fried foods as it has a remarkable ability to adhere to the exterior of the fried food product.

Probably the packaging that's creating shortage.

The Diamond Crystal has been hard to find in stores for months. I’ve found Morton’s Kosher aplenty, but it seems to be more crushed than flaky lately.

I ordered some Diamond Crystal from Amazon and just sucked up the price. Two boxes should last quite a while.

Diamond Crystal

Last few boxes of Mortons I bought the crystals were the consistency of regular table salt. No more for me.
