Just make it... its bad arse....its easy... what the hell do i need to say..
Okay,
This recipe for King Cake Bread Pudding was all of bad arse.
Recipe -
1 Small cinnamon King Cake (calandros)
3 eggs
1 cup whipping cream
1 cup whole milk
3 Tbs white sugar
1 Tsp of cinnamon
1 Tsp of good mexican vanilla
Cube and toast the king cake so it is not so soft
mix all remaining ingredience
Place cubed king cake in small baking pan and pour egg mix. Let sit for 10-15 min
Place in oven till king cake starts to rise and fluff @ 350 deg (20-25 min?) I was a bit drunk by this time. remove and let cool.
Icing -
1 can of condensed milk
3 tps of powdered sugar
3 tbs of water
1 lemon wedge sqeezed. (taste to add more)
Mix together and set in ice box to cool.
Pour over baked King Cake..... profit?
Pics for reference

That looks mighty fine. Mighty fine. Might have to make that even though I don't do desserts.

About how big is that king cake you used? Serves how many? Circular or oblong and how wide? Trying to get a feel for about how much you used.
And what size was the pan you used. Sort of looks like a 9 x 13 or is it a loaf pan?

Small. Circular, but only about 6 inches across. smallest most bakeries will make. I cut all the ingredients half for this size. It makes enough for about 4-6 people depending how much people will eat.
Loaf pan. maybe 3.5x9
I had too much icing though. Should have used less. It needed about just enough to lighly coat the top. I was thinking it needed to seep down into the dish. mistake... but not a terrible one.

Goddammit I want to make this tomorrow....

Just get a large one and use what you need, you really can't have too much king cake in my opinion.

Thanks! So, are the measurements you posted the "cut" measurements?
Trying to guestimate the amounts I'll need.

Agreed. I can't even look at the picture anymore. I'd destroy that. May make one this weekend. Sounds like a perfect way to use one of those cheap grocery store king cakes which I don't really care for.

Made this yesterday with a Rouses king cake. It was a crowd pleaser.

there are two king cakes here at the office already. Serious making it hard for the continued weight loss efforts.
I think my solution is to buy king cakes on ash wednesday so Im not tempted to make this recipe once a week between now and March 4.
