If you’re looking at BGE over KJ for price check into what you’re getting.
I recently Did this and found by the time you buy everything you need there is no real price difference. Especially if you’re buying a anything in the KJ II line.
And I would Go somewhere that has both and open the lid. Then you’ll realize how nice the KJ mechanism is and that the BGE is just a hinge.

I have the Weber Summit. Love that it is light weight. Easy to move. I think it will go at least 16 hours without refueling, although I haven’t done a cook quite that long.
It can do everything a ceramic can and more. Lump, briquettes. Doesn’t care. Did I mention easy to move?

I had a Primo and it was a love/hate. I loved the way it cooked, but hated that it was oblong.
I have a Kamado Big Joe and LOVE it, but of course it is much larger and round.
The only issue I had was the ceramic broke around the chiminey after about a year of use. I twisted the top to open it and the whole damn thing came off in my hand. Called customer service and they shipped me an entire new top half and told me to keep the old for spare parts. Even sent me 2 bags of charcoal and a whole new gasket set with it.

I have been browsing FB Marketplace to find a deal on a new/used ceramic grill and noticed there are far more BGE for resell than there are any other brand.
My theory on this is that a lot of people who end up with BGE and sell them either got them as a gift, or have the money to buy it on impulse. Either way, they probably didn’t do their research or aren’t really that much into smoking. They wanted a grill and knew the name and figured it must be the best grill around. Once they realize it’s not that, it just sits on their porch uncovered until they try to sell it with the hardware all rusted.
I have a KJ and love it. My only advice would be, whatever you go with, get the biggest size you can afford, even if it means waiting a little longer.

I went with Primo XL mainly because of the larger cooking area and it’s made in Tucker GA.
Primo XL owner here. It's the biggest around and I have used 100% of the area several times. Despite what you may have heard, size DOES matter....

Here is an article comparing the BGE to the Summit.
BGE vs Summit
The Summit provide features most ceramic Kamados don't have:
1. Gas ignitor - faster and easier than chimneys or othe starters
2. Ability to lower Temps relatively quickly
3. Mobility - lighter than ceramic
4. Stainless steel braided gasket - more durable than felt (also more expensive, but you may never have to replace it)
5. Stainless steel won't crack/break if you topple it.
Features not found on BGE:
1. Hinged deflector plate which allows you to go from low and slow to searing without removing hot parts.
2. Superior hinge system. Even though the top is lighter on the Summit, the Summit still has a better hinge

This is an old article. The new summit deflector plate is not hinged or double walled anymore, and the new BGE hinge is pretty nice.

I have a Primo Kamado. It's about 20 years old. It's been great. No problems at all. Primo was recently bought by another company. I don't know that their customer service, which used to be great, is the same or if they still manufacture in the US.
I almost got an Oval, but decided I really didn't need one that size. The Kamado has been fine for our family, and we use it a lot, but I like the design of the Oval.
I did not put my Primo in a wood table until a couple of years ago. I wish I had done that sooner. I like the table much better than the cradle.

I don't think this is accurate anymore. The website says you have to place the fuel grate at it's higher position if you want to sear on the Summit, which is a pretty big drawback for the cooker to me.
I think you could probably sear on it with the fuel grate at it's lower position and with enough coal, so I'd rather Weber advertise it like that rather than saying to adjust the fuel grate.
