I always get a #2 (no cheese for me, but I love the sauce with the chopped onions) and a chili dog.

Best burger in town is a bit of an overstatement. Best hotdog in town, may not be, though.

Yes, obviously BR's food standards are way above those of New Orleans.

My grandmother lived within walking distance of the one on on Vets... I wore that place out as a kid. Carving our names in the tables, listening to the jukebox, getting ketchup from that flip-up-plexiglass-thingy, and having my number called. Good stuff.

I haven't had a Bud's in 18 years, but all the talk on here has me dying for them.

I've hit the one on Jeff Hwy 4 times in the last two weeks.

I could see why a person wouldn't like it, but I love a well done charcoal cooked burger with chili and cheese.

Bud's is great. The burgers are good and the chili cheese fries are a must. The shredded cheese they use is great.

The previous posters are right.........it's the best drunk food in the world. Coming from Bourbon at 4 am, it's the only thing I want. Krystal burgers and Lucky Dogs are a close 2nd.

Ordered 2 different hot dogs and onion rings.

it's absolutely disgusting so far. Really, really bad.

Onion Rings = greasy, undercooked, and tasted freezer burnt.

Hot dog with smoke sauce = sliced vienna sausage tasting hot dogs on a a hamburger bun doused in a shite ton of overly sweet sauce.

Hot dog with chilli and cheese = ditto, but the chilli and cheese was at least pretty good.

Overall, one of the worst meals i have had in a long time. Don't think i will ever go back.

Not necessarily horrible, but it's never been one of the "good" ones. The 24 hour one on Clearview is probably the most consistent one. However, I saw that you said you brought it back to your office, and that's a mistake. Bud's is something you need to eat at the location... it doesn't re-warm or hold up over time well. Fresh off the grill is the way to go.

The hot dogs aren't great at any Buds (although there are people who will beg to differ).. try one of the burgers with cheese and sauce. The whole deal is that the meat is grilled over charcoal, and it's thin patties.

Their onion rings aren't made fresh, they're just out of a freezer bag. Same thing with the fries. Now, if you get the fries with chili/sauce and cheese, you're talking a whole different ballgame.
