Original location yes. I haven't come across a franchise that doesn't suck. I will miss Morning Call in Metairie. The staff was always interesting and the coffee always good. The experience went downhill after the International newsstand went away though.

I appreciate some weirdness and the funky thing, but several of the people that work at MC in City Park just suck. And their process of using a clip board to track orders and only taking cash annoys the hell out of me.

Some colorful characters for sure but I love the place. Musicians on weekends. Just a great ambience. I live in BR but stop there every time I visit New Orleans. Very glad the judge ruled in their favor

The bid from Morning Call was for $10,000 a month in rent plus 10.5 percent of gross revenue. Cafe du Monde bid $10,000 a month in rent plus 10.25 percent of gross revenue.
Does anyone else find it interesting that the sealed bids were almost identical?

The owners of MC, at least 1 of them, suck. I hope they choke on a big dick and die.
The owners of MC are descended from police chief David Hennessy, who is famous in NOLA history for causing an international incident for naming his killers as he died as "dagoes". It caused the largest mass lynching in NOLA history at the time (1890).
I also have personal experience with one of the brothers that makes me have this opinion. Don't ask, because I won't tell.
I still think CDM gets the contract - and deservedly so.

What makes you think this? I understand the judge who ruled on this is well respected and his opinion is therefore likely to be supported.

I just think the board was unhappy with MC and that's why they opened up the bidding in the first place. Like I said, I heard CDM pledged to do many improvements to the area.
I don't think this is strictly about who bid the most money.

Judge Bruno. His ruling would have to be overturned. How City Park feels about Morning Call is irrelevant at this point.in the legal process

We had a waiter once that was so high he didn't realize he was our waiter. Went inside to track him down so we could pay, but he denied being our waiter. He acted like he never met me before. The manager finally came over after about a minute of me trying to pay the guy and let me pay the bill. The guy followed me out and asked if he was really our waiter.
Definitely a CSB

He simply nullified the bidding process. He didn't award the lease. It'll be rebid.

Wow! Wishing someone would die is strong. I’m glad I don’t have those feelings about anyone.

Whereas CDM offers broken English and cash only?

Ive heard from people who’ve had difficulty getting served at MC. Dunno if it’s an individual waiter thing, or a management attitude.

I prefer MC beignets over CDM. Management, staff or personality issues aside. The level of personnel at this level of employment is not the best these days.

Bidding Instructions are Bidding Instructions
CDM will sue if they arent awarded.
CDM will sue if they arent awarded.

Actually there were some bidding instructions CDM did not fulfill as well and that was part of MC’s argument.

Costing the taxpayers money is about all they are doing.
City Park is defending these lawsuits, not CDM or MC.

Which taxpayers are you referring to? The only public funding City Park receives is from a slot machine tax.
