The Johnny's Pizza off of highland and starring used to suck. It is so much better now. The crust is crispy. The toppings are numerous. Give it a shot.

That is all.

Give it a shot.

I feel like it hasn't changed ever changed

It's fine pizza, just not worth it over the other cheaper quick service options IMO

I feel like it’s a difficult sell to folks who didn’t grow up in the 318. I did appreciate the highland location for my fix while at LSU glad to hear it’s still up and running. The pizza buffet is an excellent hangover route

Johnny's was good pizza back in the 80s in Shreveport . My brother and sister worked there when they were in high school and I delivered pizzas for them one summer. But when they expanded to BR in around '85 or so, it wasn't nearly as good as what you got in Shreveport.

We quit going but apparently they really stepped up their game. As I said last night. It is pizza. It's not a five-star experience for sure. But it beats Domino's and Pizza Hut hands down.

Edit- I see Johnny's in LA is not the same company as the Johnny's franchises in GA. Deleting my comment.

We like the Johnnys in Covington a few times a year. It’s not the best but better than Dominos and very convenient for us.

I like a Sweep the Kitchen on a lazy Saturday night.

Summers of the early 90’s, I’d take my Honda 185s through the woods to get an 8” single topping from the Hwy 139 Johnny’s for $2.22 with a cup of warm cheese sauce damn near every day.

Warren Drive was the best during the 90s.
McKeen followed it by a short hair.
Town & Country was 3.
Swartz was 4 in the area IMO.

I always thought Johnny’s and Darrell’s were the most hyped up and disappointing places on this board.

If Johnny’s has done something to improve, I’ll need to give them another shot when able.

It’s like mawmaws potato salad. It’s what you grew up eating so you think it’s the best. I know most outsiders think it’s just meh pizza, but it tastes like home to me.
It also varies depending on which one you go to. There are 3 in a 20 mile radius of my house and one of them blow the other two out of the water.

The sweep the swamp during Lent. Let it cool completely and then reheat it in the air fryer. It'll change your life.
It's like the cheese comes alive the next day and it all melds together. Kind of like a good gumbo I guess.

Johnny's isnt fancy pants pizza by any means and it's not going to win any awards but it's a lot better than any of the pizza mill chains (pizza hut, dominoes, etc).

That being said I just so happened to have eaten it tonight (for probably the first time in a year or two) and I don't know that it's noticeably any different than any other time one has it.
