John Besh Restaurants - No Corkage Fee????

I thought I heard on the radio yesterday that Besh restaurants have no corkage fee and you can bring in your own bottle of wine? any truth to this??

only place I know that does this is Martinique Bistro on Magazine, i think on either Tues or Wed.

There's no corkage fee at August. Didn't realize it was a Besh restuarnt-wide policy.

Had lunch at August a few weeks ago, and yes, it has always been that way for every Besh place.

As long as you are bringing in a great bottle, I don't see a problem. Now if you are using a big bottle of Yellowtail then that is pretty tacky.

Actually, though, I have dreamed of doing something like this - not Yellowtail specifically, but something even seedier. Hopefully the sommelier will have a sense of humor about it.

this is awesome. celebrating my anniversary with the wife and last year we went to napa so it would be awesome to be able to bring in one of our bottles from the trip
