Same here. You can't compare it to a roast beef po-boy. It serves a different purpose. Sure I would love to eat a dressed roat beef po-boy every day for lunch but I want and need a healthier option most days. Nothing wrong with a 6" turkey sub for lunch. Nothing bad about Subway... it's just not "gourmet".

Do people really eat Subway, Quizno's and the like?

No, no one. That's why there's a Subway or Quizno's on every other block. I think Subway is junk, but I still eat there because it's close to work and cheap.

Back on topic...I dig Jimmy Johns. Sad to say, but it's the closest thing down here I can get to a sub shop in the northeast.

Sorry for my ignorance but I'm not sure what you mean by Pie?

Thanks for the response. You've got me stumped on this one. I know the area well but don't know of Pie.

It's really the bread that makes a difference to other sandwiches. The gargantuan is really good but kind of pricey for a quick sandwich

And yes, Jimmy Johns is about as quick as it comes and that's really nice.

exactly a 6' turkey sub on wheat loaded with veggies is a convenient, healthy lunch.

Never did understand the craze over Jimmy John's. I wasn't in Baton Rouge when they opened, but went up for some football games. One of my friend's insisted that we go get food there Sunday for lunch because it was just so awesome.

I got one of the specials (forgot which one), but it was just average. Maybe even a bit below average.
