Jazz Fest rookie here. Can anyone offer me any pointers on navigating the culinary delight that is Jazz Fest? I'll be there on Friday and Sunday and really have no idea what I should be doing. Anything you locals could offer would be great.
Also, if you could only eat at one place in New Orleans for the rest of your life, where would it be and what would you order? Trying to get an itenerary for Saturday .

Getting reservations to the best restaurants in Nola this weekend will be hard 2 days out. Fwiw

Try the crawfish bisque while at the Fest. As far as restaurants go, good luck. Most places will be packed.

Pretty close to the airport.
I should have clarified on the restaurants, I sort of meant some hole in the wall places for a good po boy/gumbo/oysters. Nothing too fancy.

Crawfish bisque sounds great. Is it pretty easy to find what you want or is it all scattered around?

Oh damn, crawfish enchiladas sound awesome, too

The food is all in a general area.

So, pretty much anything that has crawfish in it, check. How much do you normally spend while at the fest?

If you're not used to eating boiled crawfish, I would not recommend eating them. You don't want to be shitting out there.
Anything else with crawfish is fair game.
Most food items are $6-10. A can of beer is $5 I think. If you're spending all day there you could spend $100" easily if you're drinking

$100 will disappear quickly if youre getting drunk and not worried about being close to stages

Nope, famous for years and years at the Fest, Crawfish Monica hands down.

I'm sneaking in some Firefly to mix w/ Lemonade.

I find the crawfish bread is not as good as it once was. The cochon de lait poboy is always a winner, the pheasant, quail and andouille gumbo is always great. Cracklins are a must. Meaty white beans and rice.
The food is located in three or four main areas.
Also looks for a small booth selling sweet potato cookies.
The frozen coffee is always a good start and the rose mint tea is good.
