I love the atmosphere at Jaque-imos. It's fun. The food is very good. And fun.

I think they do a really good softshell crab dish. I like the fried oyster salad that comes gratis, and I like the sides dishes that are homegrown favorites.

I don't get the hate at all. It's really just backlash at a place that is very popular. It's not haute cuisine, and doesn't pretend to be.

They must have really gone up in their prices, because I don't recall it being real expensive back then.

If you search really well, you can find an old menu online. They entrees were around $14-$22. Now the entress are around $22-$36.

And yes, I think just a plate of fried chicken is something like $22.

Yeah, that's what I recalled. It was back then a healthy step in price below what I would expect to pay for 'high end' dining. Now it appears about equal to that.

Not worth it. I'm still not going to try to dissuade someone who hasn't been there from at least trying it once, though.

yea we are def going to get that. heard the same from my friends that have been.

Jimbeaux- thanks for the softshell crab suggestion. the prices don't seem that high to me considering alot of restaurants down here are around that range. I heard it's fun and I'm still excited to go, doesn't say much b/c I'm always excited to go anywhere

The alligator cheesecake is a novelty but it really kind of gross.
