Fast Food Breakfasts:
1) Cane's Chicken Tender Biscuit (sadly, only place I've ever seen this is at the San Antonio Airport). They also make a french toast with the texas toast.
2) Whataburger Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit
3) CFA Chik'n Minis
4) A kolache from pretty much anywhere decent
5) Brisket breakfast tacos from Buc-ees
The fast food breakfast / grab and go breakfast game in Houston is much much better than anything in NOLA.
Beignets do top them all... but that's not a good eat in the car on the way to work thing.

The best fast food breakfast in Baton Rouge is the shack breakfast with a fried pork chop from the chicken shack.

Whataburger seems to be the only place that cooks its biscuits until they have a nice brown crust. All the other places under-bake them and they fall apart, crumbling as you try to eat them. WAB also has a real egg on theirs.
