La Broilers
Heads or Tails
Tony's Seafood
Boil and Roux

Had some from Tony's a couple weeks ago that were full and good. That would be my recommendation. Get some Cajun boudin balls while you're there as well.

Duckroost in St. Amant has good crabs
Also check out Capital City Crawfish - they've always come through for me in the past

Capital City Crawfish closed today. Tonys didn't have crabs and they also only had cold day-old crawfish.

I'd go LA Boilers for crabs today.

An an aside, I'm at Sammy's waiting on crawfish right now. They're normally $5-$5.50 at this time. Almost passed out when they handed me a $85 bill for 10lbs. How the hell do they get away with $7.50/lb when everywhere else is $2 less?

Sammy's crawfish are one of the most overrated food items in town. Every single time I've ordered them I've been disappointed.

Back in LA, too, and my family totally let me down on the boiled seafood front. Hope you had better luck than me.

?

I didn't know the price beforehand. I get crawfish from them starting in November each year and I've never paid more than $5.50-$5.99 there.

At $7.50, I won't return for them. I imagine that has to be the case with any local person who makes the mistake I did, no? I can't imagine someone continuing to order from there once realizing they're $2/lb more than others. They always are understandably a bit higher due to being a real restaurant, but that's like out of state prices. Tonys was $5.69 today.

I didn't think I needed to explain sales tax and the $3.25 rape charge they add on for two petite red potatoes and one single corn cob. But while I'm on the subject, I can't believe they get away with $7.50/lb on top of charging $3 for $0.20 of vegetables. At $7.50, you could toss the cheap veggies in as a courtesy.

They've never charged that much in previous years. I'm pretty amazed the place is able to do so. You'd think nearby competition would force them to not go more than $1 higher than elsewhere. I guess people are stilling lining up for it through.

Lighten up, its Christmas. This used to be a jovial board.

Yeah, I thought maybe Christmas was the reason for the price as well. I almost hope so.

Sammy's has gone up on more than a few of their prices, I noticed. $85 is insane for that little crawfish and a handful of vegetables.

I think they're really good and have been for years. BUT, I have a few times gotten what seemed like the bottom of the barrel but they brought me out a fresh tray when I let them know. Other food is decent but I enjoy Sammys crawfish.

ETA: 7.50/lb is pretty ridiculous though.
