I thought this was a different kind of Mission.

I’ve eaten at the one in Hampton VA. Food was just ok. Nice people though

I expect not every veteran of foreign war wants to relive his tour during lunch......

We ate at the one in Jacksonville, NC often. Loved it. Great business.

I don’t know what your buddies issue is but I know a lot of active duty and better and that eat there. The one outside Ft. Campbell is always busy.

What was his reasoning for refusing to eat there?

“The mashing, the stuffing. It changes you, man.”

Was the brisket flat tender and juicy? That's the real test

Ehh not really but it was a catered event so I didn’t expect it to be.

Several other people at the event have eaten my brisket and they all told me they liked mine better.

I had a chopped beef sandwich that was basically like burnt sawdust. They don't serve beer. I like what they do and their 'mission', but never returned.

Is this the guy that used to do the bbq comps on tv? I think he was a fireman.

I ate at one in OKC last week pretty solid bbq and sides. Only complaint was they rotate their desserts and the Mississippi Mud was not available.

I've been to 3 Mission locations. One Pennsylvania and two different ones in Virginia. I really wanted to like them due to their values but every trip was some of the worst barbecue I have ever had. The brisket, pulled pork and ribs were dry and flavorless. The beans were not great but better than the meats.
