I'm purchasing an outdoor propane griddle.

I'm stuck between a stainless steel 4 burner Blackstone and a 4 burner camp chef.

Also does anyone have any thoughts/experience with the two burner Blackstone and three burner camp chef? I may also go a little smaller.

Thanks much.

I have the larger Blackstone. Love it with no negatives. I’d go with the larger one as you may regret the smaller one later after you realize how much you can cook on it

I recommend the Cajun Hibachi

Thanks man.

Tell me, do you find it gets hot enough? Like searing hot, above 500 degrees?

Dicks has the stainless steel model for 249.00. I think i'm gonna have to get that.

I've measured mine at 600 in some of the hot spots

I bought the 2 burner Blackstone (28" I think) and it doesn't get hot enough to fry bacon.

The 36" on the other hand, will get hot as shite.

No problem, I have the 36" at home and love it, so I bought the smaller one for camping, tailgating, etc. First time I used it was at a tailgate and had about 10 people pissed at me because it took an hour to cook 1 pack of bacon. It is made for the small green propane bottles, and comes with an adapter for a larger bottle. I used a big bottle, but it just doesn't produce enough heat.

I have the tabletop 22" blackstone and I love it.

Not sure why the 28" wouldn't get hot enough.

The 22" gets rip roaring hot for me.

I have the 36 inch Blackstone for at home use, and the 17 inch Blackstone for camping/tailgating. No complaints on either.

I debated back and forth for a while and finally ended up going with the Campchef. I cooked on a Blackstone and would make the same choice again, though both are fine pieces of equipment.

Do you know how hot your camp chef gets? Also is it the 3 or 4 burner?

Thanks much.

I have the campchef FT600. It is a 4 burner. I’ll try to fire it up tonight and get a reading, but it will smoke avocado oil (over 500 smoke point) not even running full blast.

My father in law has the Blackstone. Awesome. He has done everything from Philly Cheese steaks to fried rice and shrimp to burgers and dogs and over the weekend he did a full breakfast.

Thanks man that would be terrific. The camp chef 600 is really the superior product in my opinion but of course it's more expensive.

The 3 burner 475 though is a really good bargain at 199 from dicks.

Im in the market for a griddle and researched quite a bit. Both of these seem to cook well, however, the grease traps for these are the issue for some BG owners compared to CC owners, that being the camp chef griddles are much better and less maintenance when it comes to cleaning and catching grease. That's enough of a selling point for me not having to rig up a DIY to capture grease better. So, it will be a camp chef for me when I pull the trigger.
