It takes about 8-10 pounds of boiled or par-boiled crawfish to yield a pound of tails and fat.

Tony's Seafood is selling them boiled for $6.49lb. For about $65 you can peel your own.

If you find any let me know. I haven’t seen any fresh tails out yet. All the ones the grocery stores are selling are frozen from last season. No telling how much fresh tails would cost right now if you could even find them.

Roberts had boiled for 3.99 this morning, and from the crawfish app Winn Dixie has them for about the same price. Last week Rouse's had frozen tails for 9.99.

Have you tried Rouses? I bought some Louisiana frozen tails in Laffy, so it seems like BR Rouses would have them.

Good tip. The OP edited. He originally wanted "fresh" crawfish tails.

I wondered why responses didn’t match his request. I hesitated to respond figuring I was missing something.

12 oz packages are usually Chinese crawfish, in my experience.

Rouses got them on sale for now. Go get them. Frozen Louisiana crawfish peeled tails.
Note: Don't get one that is product of any other country; it's probably china in disguise

Donnie Rouse should be kicked in the nuts. It's all about the $$$ and no loyalty or support for the Louisiana farmers.
Azzhat is selling 2 brands of Chinese crawfish tails both disguised under a Cajun/French name.
Bernards and Thibodeauxs are just as guilty importing that trash.

Only LA brand I saw

Rouse's has them as does a good majority of the AG stores like Hi-Nabor.

Maybe so, but these 12 oz packs are from Breaux Bridge

You’re right, those are not Chinese. I was wrong. But plenty of Chinese crawfish are processed in Breaux Bridge. That’s part of the grift. They brand it with a Cajun or Louisiana type name, and make sure you can read that they’re processed in Breaux Bridge. Both Louisiana farmed and wild caught crawfish will have the Certified Cajun symbol on the package, like on the one you pictured.

China even threw in a fleur de lis on Thibodaux brand. How cute is that? If there’s anything I’ve learned from food labeling is that it is intended to mislead you. Don’t read the big words and letters that you see. Read the small fine prints.

Justin Bieber’s family brand is always legit. Grabbed these last week from Alexander’s at $16/lb, which is what they have typically run the past few years.

Yes, they are being very sneaky, buyer beware, and if the price is too good to be true , it is
