I’m trying real hard to save it for tailgating Saturday…..the struggle

Don’t. It’s not a tailgating whisky. It’s a post victory whisky. But not an Auburn victory, it’s more of a Bama victory.

Agreed, it’s my favorite scotch but no way I could sip on it all day at a tailgate.

I didn’t find the 15 that much better than the 12, which I like. The 18 on the other hand, OMG that’s some good chit!

You thought the pinnacle of scotch was a blend?

I used to go to a Macallan tasting event for a few years, but it's been a while since I've tried all of them. I recall the 18 being the next step up in the lineage from the 12, but the 15 being something very different.

Will try

I am new to the scotch thing

Anything that stands up to Macallan
Before you spend money on Lagavulin you should probably take a taste first. It is heavily peated and smoked. Lots of iodine.

No matter what scotch, bourbon, cognac, wine someone says they like, 15 people will say their favorite is better. It is the mantra of the FDB.

Johnnie Walker Blue

I you like this,
quote:

Macallan 12

and you like this,
quote:

Caol Ila 12 & 18

Then you need to try these.

The whisky that doesn't get put into Caol Ila single malt bottles is used to make Johnnie Walker blends.

I fully agree. However, and I’m being completely honest, if I don’t at least crack it open tomorrow, I’ll end up drinking it on a random Tuesday because I can’t wait

I picked up a Lagavulin 2020 Distillers Edition a few days ago, will probably crack it open this weekend at some point.
