Diamond Grill and The Bentley Room are the only two restaurants I’d classify as “nicer”. I doubt you had this experience at either. Must’ve been Spirits
Someone actually knows the area!!!

It’s just over priced, crap food and poor service. Nobody cares so it will take a hard labor market to change things. Even then, not sure if I will start back up dinning out. I stopped about 4 months ago. Best decision we’ve made. No more 50/50 chance of having a good meal with good service. I can grill a steak and make quesadillas, get some imports and it’s a night that I don’t have to leave to chance.

I’ve have never had to wait very long at any Chick-FIL-A. My orders have been right and they usually have cars flow right through the line.

Not sure how people eat out multiple times per week. Its expensive and gross
I would expect that you would probably eat at places that are only gross.
There is a big world of restaurants out there. Try to find some good ones.

Definitely hit or miss. When I’m in Ellick visiting we usually go to spirits with friends one night. More for the atmosphere and bar than the food.

What is this nicer restaurant you speak of?

Atmosphere is all they really have. I will say this though, post Covid it’s been hard to find good cooks/chefs.

Trio’s is supposed to be pretty good.

I have eaten at some nice restaurants. I don’t see the point to eat a $100-$200 meal when I can fill up on something I cook at home. I don’t view food as something pleasurable. I view it at as fuel necessary to keep my body functioning the way I want it to

Do you realize how long 30 minutes is? You didn't wait that long.
Odysseus has no concept of time, according to mythology at least.

Best service was in the worst economy. When the oil biz cratered in the late 80s to early 90s, the local banks failed and houses were foreclosed on left and right, but you’d get your Taco Bell order lickety split.
It was because the guy managing the night shift was a 35 year old with a masters in geology, laid off from the oil company, wearing a clip on tie and a short sleeve dress shirt. He would have that shite humming. Today, the position is filled by a tatted up dropout who is hitting his vape between orders.

A labor market where people with master’s degrees are working as fast food managers is bad for EVERYONE. If that can happen to those folks, what’s to keep it from happening to you? Or God forbid you make a living selling stuff to people like that

But you post on a food board. Make it make sense.
