Hey all. I went last night with a group of friends (coupon in hands of course). the meal was good. the meats were all really good, cooked perfectly to medium rare/rare and nothing was too salty. that being said the buffet was the exact same as when i went in novemeber. heck, the house special (sirloin) was the same as well. does this place change anything?

i agree with a lot of posters on here now. you would have to be a complete fool to pay full price for this meal. while it is very good, it is obvious they will be sending out the coupons monthly.

i still recommend it as a place to go try, but it's definitely a place where you have to take a break from for a few months before returning.

it was crowded however, so i don't agree with whoever said it wouldn't last. the location it is in will ensure that. there are plenty of 28-35 year olds in baton rouge who think they are "big shite" when eating here. that was evident last night by several groups that were waiting.

also, the dress code there is starting to slip to casual. when i went in novemeber, everyone was in slacks, button downs, and coats. but the majority of the place wore jeans and i even spotted some really causal people (like t-shirts). i guess that's the confusion of this place. it's in a really nice area, and it's got a nice set-up and look to it, but in the end it's a buffet

Zombie-good review, and I concur with your comments completely based on our Monday visit. I was distressed with the presence of the jeans and t-shirt crowd, as it does lessen the experience for me. I am certainly not the clothing police, but I had my teenage boys at least in polo shirts, so it would seem that people could dress like they are going to be in nice surroundings, not the Piccadilly Cafeteria, IMO.

I haven't been yet, but I've definitely come to the conclusion thanks to the OT that when I do, I'll be bringing in a coupon.

Would add that my kids had bragging rights at school, as many of their buddies parents had been, but not taken the kids. Hopefully that incents straight A's again this semester. If they get scholarship help to go to college, a few rounds of good beef will never have been so cheap.

it's a brazillian steak house that gives the impression of being high (not fine) dining.

lol. thats how my parent's inspired me to do well. by taking my sister and i to the finest restaurants in new orelans and around the united states, they said to get a good job so i could do the same thing with my family. and i think i am on the way to doing that

ok, i just looked up the website and they have white tablecloths? at a brazilian steakhouse? Just not the way it was supposed to be imo. Half the pull of BSH's is the south american partylike atmosphere. What are the prices like?

the site calls the dress code: Smart Casual (wtf?)

good review and you did hit the nail on the head .. at half price, the value is there for your meal .. at full price, it's not ... my concerns about the future of the place center on the fact that, yes, it is packed on the monday/tuesday coupon nights .. wednesday and thursday seem to be dead (i go to the loft across the street a lot) ... the weekends are better .. but remember, this is BR .. people will run in droves to a new restaurant until the next latest, greatest flavor opens up and they will move on .. that will happen with TDB like it does with basically every other place in this city ...

also, i just don't see the average person returning more than once, maybe twice a year .. it's just not a concept that is going to garner a lot of repeat business .. it's more of a novelty ...

a genius idea. it looks great with blood and meat splatterings all over it. nice idea by the designer.

i thinks it like $42 per person. do not bring a woman unless she is a meat eater! my friend brought his wife last night and we found out she only likes well-done meat (total waste of a dead animal). my friend basically paid for her to eat a cheese-veggie buffet. though they were accomodating to her needs and cooked some pieces of steak for her at well-done, but it took 20 minutes. in conclusion 99% of women would be a waste of money here

yuppy, 28-35 year old, typical baton rougian who thinks this is their fancy night out. wears dark jeans with a button down shirt, first two buttons un-buttoned, and a sport coat. holding a budweiser or mich ultra

couldn't agree more. there is not one person that could eat there twice a week, even if they could afford to. the food would get boring due to the same stuff being offered. i love meat, and even i wouldn't think of returning until a couple of months have passed.

Forever-check the threads on TDB below. I posted links to the coupons that Catman shared with us last week-just print it out and bring it. Only need one per table, only good Monday and Tuesday (in January for now). It said tip would be included, but it was not, so if the service is good, like it was for us, factor in the discount when leaving your tip.

Actually smart casual is nice jeans and a button down at least. I certainly dont have any problems with someone wearing a nice pair of jeans with a nice shirt here. I think a T-Shirt shouldnt be accepted. This isnt Commanders Palace.

just do a search and look for the post written by catman. he posted the coupon.

one of the girls we were with joked to the waiter when she handed him the coupon saying "you must have gotten a lot of these tonight." he said almost every person who has eaten tonight had one.

and it is interesting what tigerrhag said about it not being crowded on wednesday and thursday. that's not good at all
