I was just in Baton Rouge in March and got some canes. The fingers were bigger than zaxbys for sure
I do like the wings options at Zaxbys
I'm just saying if i had a choice if they were in the same location it would be Canes for sure
Btw, Todd Graves worked for Guthries on Baxter St in Athens, Ga while he attended UGA. It's there he got the idea. It had nothing to do with Zaxbys.
That location in Athens, Ga is now the only Canes in Georgia. He bought it, it's not a franchised location

I don't eat canes very often but I went to Zaxbys in Gulf Shores a few weeks ago and it doesn't touch Canes. Toast sucks, sauce sucks, coleslaw sucks.

Yes they do. I have a black and blue with double chicken about once a week.
I don't know how anyone can say the fingers are better at Zaxby's though. Way smaller and the breading is not nearly as good.

Gee, you mean to tell me a box combo should be the same price 20 years later? Because of inflation, That's just not possible without a significant drop in quality. And canes maintains quality.
For less than 8 bucks you get a box combo, which is more than enough to fill a regular sized person up. Try going to another fast food place and order a chicken sandwich combo.. You're looking at around $7. Chicken finger combo at Popeyes? $8-9.

You can argue over who has better chicken fingers all day, but the challenge for any new entrant to the chicken finger game around here is just going to be real estate and people's habits. People here are used to cane's and they're everywhere.

Pretty even on tenders
Canes fries are slightly better
Canes sauce is exponentially better. Zaxbys pre packages their sauce
Canes bread is exponentially better. Zaxbys uses plain bread that is buttered

I like Zaxby's better.
As for Guthries, it sucks. I have a nostalgic soft spot for the original, but I've had some pretty gross chicken from there.

Sounds about right. Zaxby's does have options, but I got wings last time I was there and they were pretty tiny. I really appreciate Cane's' minimalistic menu approach.
