I don't know. I like the show but he does get sort of annoying. Almost every show is identical and he uses the same stupid cliches in every show.

I think he's pretty entertaining and he clearly loves what he does. Never seen or heard of him do anything that would cause me to say he's an a-hole.

Anybody calling him one of the biggest douches in the country can't get past their close-minded simpleton little pea brain that says any guy with dyed hair, tattoos, jewelry, etc. can't be a decent dude.

Well. He does seem a little cheesy

I'm not sure that he is really implying that he is an a-hole or not a decent person. When I think of douche I don't think that it means bad person necessarily.

I've never watched any of his stuff.

And Timbo, I have no clue what shows you're watching. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

There's serveral more I would like to try, but I have only been to one, and was actually extremely underwhelmed by it. Old Coffee Pot Gumbo on St. Peters in the Quarter. Must of gotten the wrong dish or caught them on a bad day. I have usually heard good things about the place.
But I have had better red beans from Popeyes.
I may just be cursed on that block too. Been to Yo Mama's once, and boy I will NEVER do that again.
The Joint did look good though, so I may need to check it out sometime. Always just weary though of getting BBQ outside of Memphis.

How are these not "completely ungrounded statements?"

I assumed they are based on one's observations of the personas projected by those individuals on TV and not based on personal interactions with each individual.

I don't believe that would make them "completely ungrounded." Though, I suppose one could reasonably disagree with such assessments based upon one's own observations and perceptions.

Guy Fieri represents everything that Anthony Bourdain hates about The Food Network’s influence on America’s eating habits: An obnoxious former reality contestant who promotes mediocre cuisine. And, of course, there’s that hair.

"I look at Guy Fieri, and I just think, 'Jesus, I'm glad that's not me.' You work that hard and there's not a single show of yours that you'd want to sit down and say, 'Hey, I made that last week. Look at that camera work. It's really good, huh? I'm proud of what I do.'"
If I had to be him for five hours, I’d hang myself in a shower stall.”

Bourdain is a fricking joke. But I'm sure you get hard when he curses and drinks beer on camera.

I don't get you at all. Somebody says Guy is a douche and you get all wadded up and say it's completely ungrounded, yet you say things like this. Just confusing since you are obviously a smart person.

Yeah, that's our problem. A fricking light-hearted show about mom & pop restaurants is dragging this country down.
