I dont care for it, but I dont think it is nearly as bad as the op and everyone else makes it out to be. The scampi is pretty bad. The shrimp are broiled in a butter flavored cottonseed oil rather than butter. The shrimp are asian and flavorless like all asian shrimp. The grilled seafood dishes arent bad and some of the appetizers are decent. The lobster is good, but its lobster.

I doubt anyone cares about Red Lobster, or your opinion of it, but knock yourself out bro.

Given that there are 8 pages on this, it seems that people care a lot!

I remember really liking RL as a kid the few times it was open in BR. Those popcorn shrimp were pretty good. As an adult the biscuits are really the only thing there that's above average. If you want seafood there are so many better choices if you live anywhere close to the coast.

Neauxla would have manned up and snapped a creepy shot of the waitress...just sayin

the fact that people can read this thread .. see all the rational dislike of this shithole from several posters of all tastes and walks of life, read the review and see pics, and STILL come on here to defend RL is fricking hysterical

that's a passive aggressive defense of shitty chains like RL and you know it. don't bring your cognitive dissonance over here and not own it. I don't GAF what you eat, but at least admit to liking things that most people with knowledge about food think are shite.

edit: not worth talking to you. The statements were what they were. Don't care what you think.

I'm gonna go out in a limb here and say that all the food snobs that rip a chain without eating there would never admit to it being decent if they were to halfway enjoy it. It would become a guilty secret pleasure for them. Sorta like when Squidward tries his first Krabby Patty and falls in love but can't come to terms and admit he actually likes them.
That's what all of you foodies are. A bunch of damned Squidwards.

I'll be damned, I always thought it was Squidworth.

I can't speak for everyone, but I've eaten at pretty much every chain out there. Don't think there's ever been a restaurant that I've never been to that I've ripped on here outside of Antoine's.
I have no problem admitting when something is decent or good. Hell just a couple weeks ago I was saying how I enjoyed Carabba's.
But I understand it's easy to just slap a "food snob" label on people and be on your way sometimes. In the case of this thread, I've seen several posters who nobody would consider "food snobs" say that Red Lobster is a shite restaurant.

Here is my testimony:
I always remove the croutons and throw them away, regardless of where I order a Caesar salad. Having said that, your salad looks a little skimpy compared to the last one I ordered in Meridian.
Tasty and not too filling
Good and (probably not) good for you.
If you order these three items, Red Lobster is as good of a choice as any chain lobster place on the interstate in the first 40 miles of I20/59 in eastern Mississippi.
I am almost 57.6043% certain of that.

I had to google. No clue what that meant.
Maybe I'm in over my head here in this RL thread that's 7 pages long.

Im not defending it by saying their food is good, Im just saying its not quite as bad as people here make it out to be. Obviously someone who has a passion of food is not going to go out of their way to eat their, but there are plenty of items on the menu that someone can enjoy for say a quick lunch.

Just curious, do you use terms like this in everyday conversation???

This excuse always confuses me. Restaurants like RL are strategically placed in areas of high traffic and other businesses. It's not like RL is ever someone's only option.
