I ordered the turtle soup. It was terrible. Couldn't finish it. Not enough salt. Not enough spice and the "turtle" I'm almost certain was ground beef. If you are going to fake it at least make the protein shredded. Also the egg already comes in the soup and not to order. The turtle soup sucks.
To fix add a little more salt, little more red pepper flakes, make the roux darker, add a pinch of clove (just enough to have a background flavor), do not cook with the egg and make sure the protein is shredded.
Every turtle soup I've had had the egg in the soup. Traditionally, the eggs were turtle eggs found when cleaning a female turtle, so it was natural to throw them in there, too. Almost always the meat was ground, not stringy.
If the meat was indeed ground beef, the chef should be ashamed of himself for putting that in a $350 meal.

I will say as I’ve gotten older I’ve found it much easier to live life by providing direct and constructive feedback to people. And there is a way to do it without being a “Karen.” Whether that be in managing people, issues on a vacation or going out to a restaurant. I encourage the op to give the restaurant a call if nothing else and speak with a GM or someone who can address the issues.

Another great example of the classy food board. Guy writes a well detailed review and nobody’s happy.
It’s cool if you want to express different opinions, but y’all are bashing this review. Crazy.

If you sliced someone’s ham too thin at the butcher counter, you’d rather them make a silly complaint on a public forum rather than just let you know?

Listen, if he started out with, I gave full detail of my issues with their management and this is what they told me, I'd be ok with the review.

So what? This is a food board, right? He wasn’t bashing the restaurant, he was just telling us what his experience was. We talk about food on this board, right?
I understand your point about telling the manager, but oh well, he didn’t. Why put him down for it? Let’s just talk about the review.

If you didn’t, you might want to put your review on yelp or google. Plenty of restaurants read those, and it may help them.

You’ve made 5 posts in this small thread and none of them pertain to the “review”
Addressing how to handle an issue at a restaurant is applicable on this board and specifically this thread. You seem to be only one with an issue. The OP hasn’t clutched pearls

Not enough salt.
Salt is literally right in front of you.

Ask for another table when you make reservations and ask for some salt. Jesus Christ.
I eat at places all the time and ask for certain sections bc it’s too loud and no one bats an eye. Gallaghers and Clancys to be specific.
I’ve eaten at Tchefuncte once. The food was decent, but not on par with other options. It’s a good place for a date when you’re trying to get laid.

I’m married and my wife would rather have a better meal, but it’s a trendier and more upscale presentation for most folks. 30 year old BogeyMan would be there more often at the bar with dates.

This cracks me up. I get it, restaurants shouldn't lie on their menu. But the funny part is acting as if turtle is special

I appreciate reviews of all types on here. It helps me to form an opinion on if I want to give a restaurant a try or not. Especially when others chime in and give their opinion also. I don't want people to be shy about posting reviews.

Don’t most restaurants use veal for turtle soup now?
Also, I’ve always had the egg added to the soup.
Looking at what y’all ordered, what were y’all drinking for the bill to be $350? Did y’all order a nice bottle of wine? Expensive scotch? Wife drinking martinis?
