There. I said it. Bacon is awesome. A good burger is a treasure. A great burger should not have bacon.

I like it mix it up. Bacon is certainly not necessary for a good burger. But every once in a while, hey why not?

Kidding. I like it with or without bacon. But I have to have cheese on it.

Texture and taste wise, I don't think it's a great fit. So many other better additions to a burger.

Oddly enough, I only see bacon as a necessity on a I peanut butter burger.

Normal burger, I'm ambivalent.

Bacon and blue is one of my favorites. I just love burgers with or without any one topping.

that's where I stand too. I don't mind a bacon burger, but it's really rare that I get one. And even then I end up taking the bacon off and eating it by itself

Wendy's. If I'm ordering bacon on a burger it's most likely 2-3 Jr. Bacon cheeseburgers from Wendy's. A step in the right dietary direction from my 4 JBC days of yesteryear I might add. I don't go out of my way to get a bacon burger other than that.

The inherent problem with bacon in just about anything is that the taste is just overpowering

I don't mind bacon on a burger every now and then but it's definitely going to overcome a lot of the other flavors

O-man you greatly disappoint me. A mid-rare burger with cheddar, bacon and alfalfa sprouts is a wondorous adventure for your buds.

I agree, love bacon, but if the burger is right its not necessary. I'll eat a burger with bacon, but it gets in the way.

Yep. It's not a good fit for a burger. Just my opinion.

Yes it is.

Oh dear, you fail to see the truth of the first quote.

Bacon makes everything better. Everything!

This is a whole other thread, but I agree. I'll eat a rare/medium rare steak, but that's because of the principals of how bacteria and meat are related.

Medium rare ground beef is basically like eating raw meat just out of the package. A lot of people don't understand the difference between medium rare ground beef, and medium rare steak.
