And it was phenomenal. Crispy, crunchy skin and super moist. Highly recommend. Instructions:

-5 lb. Bird
-Rinse and pat dry
-I injected mine with Meat Church Chicken Injection, but this is definitely optional and not necessary.
-Rub skin and underneath skin with Olive Oil
-Season with seasoning of your choice. (Usually something with some herbs for that nice greenery). Be sure to get seasoning underneath skin as well.
-Put breast side down in Air Fryer on 350 for 30 minutes.
-Turn breast side up and cook for an additional 30 minutes at 350.
-Cut up and enjoy.

Did you have to baste / spray the skin? Seems like it would burn in an air fryer.

Can attest. We make an herb butter and rub over and under skin.

Cheap and easy.

No sir. Did not burn, but was crispy and delicious.

You talking about a counter top air fryer or one of these big turkey air frying deals?

Just a regular old countertop Air Fryer.

Interesting. When I'm doing wings, legs, whatever in mine I have to flip them every 10 minutes or so to keep them from burning. Especially the ones on the top rack. I'll have to try a whole chicken and see how it goes...

Dry skin = crispier skin.

But why wash it?

I understand your point. But the counterpoint is simple. Why not? Do what you want. It's your chicken.

I personally wash mine because I don't like the sticky chicken semen on the skin but to each their own.

Mobile Josh, I highly doubt you would have the wherewithal nor the guts to say that to Mo Jeaux’s face.

Sure, do what you want, but your counterpoint, though perhaps simple, isn't terribly persuasive. One, it isn't necessary. Two, it potentially spreads germs.

Do you wash all meats, or just chicken?

I wash any meat that came in a cryopack like ribs, brisket, pork shoulder and whole chickens. Don’t know if it’s required or not but it helps reduce the smell and get the slimy crap off so it’s not like handling a wet turd.

Wow, never thought I could cook a chicken in an convection oven.

I've done this many times, but before seasoning I spatchcock the chicken so it's less likely to turn to one side when it's breast side down. This cuts some of the total cooking time off. Bird comes out juicy with lots of crispy skin.

Seems like a long time. Was any of it overcooked?
