How is the quality of food at The American Sector and Bar in New Orleans?

This is the restaurant inside the WW2 Museum. I'm asking, because from what I read, it used to be really good (relatively speaking) when Besh had something to do with it, but since the WW2 did not renew Besh's lease, how is it today?
I'm bringing my family to visit the WW2 Museum soon and planning to spend the majority of the day there --- and figured an easy dining option is to eat there when we are winding down.

I have Domenica and The Grill Room at Windsor Court (brunch) already lined up (wanted Atchafalaya, but they are booked for the date / time that I wanted to go).
We ate at Meril (dinner) and Willa Jean (breakfast / brunch) last time we were in New Orleans and really enjoyed both meals --- and may do it again, if push comes to shove for dinner.
Wanted to keep it "simpler" because I envision my children being tired towards the end of the day.

It’s not gonna blow you away, but it’s totally fine. Especially if you’re at the museum and want convenience. I haven’t had any bad experiences. Sometimes the service is a bit slow, but it’s just because they’re usually crowded.

Cochon is great and two block walk. Peche is also close.

Good suggestion. I've been there once and enjoyed it.

Never been. I'll research it.
Appreciate the suggestions.

We are fairly patient people. I'm not expecting to be blown away - there are other restaurants that can certainly do that in New Orleans. But convenience will be important for us.

Unless you are staying Windsor Court, I wouldn’t seek out the brunch. It’s not bad food, it’s just a bunch of old people and B-team staff.

I'm not staying there. Unfortunately, not many brunch options for the time frame I want (Easter Sunday) and this was it when I looked.

Meh to quite meh. It's overpriced and very corporate feeling because it's in the museum. It's not BAD, it's just not worth it or really good. It's meh.
We've eaten there a couple times because Dad didn't feel like leaving the museum and walking back, but there are PLENTY of places in the area that'll get you a far better meal. You'll just have to leave the museum to get to them.

Second both of these, Couchon Butcher is great for lunch with lots of sandwiches and Peche is great seafood, casual but the food is more upscale

Not a fan of the atmosphere (pretty sterile) but always thought the food was surprisingly good. Then again maybe I was just grading on the “museum restaurant” curve.

This board is so funny. Food is fine there. If you catch happy hour even better.

I get a burger when I go. Can’t go wrong with a burger.
