Sure, and I could list off a selection from the hundreds of restaurants in Baton Rouge, but that's not responsive to what I asked. I'm not saying that Lafayette doesn't have good food, and lots of it. It was posited that the selection and quality of food in Lafayette is far superior to that of Baton Rouge. As someone who spends a significant amount of time in both cities, I just don't see it.
Other than Korean BBQ, apparently, I'm at a loss for what I can get in Lafayette that I can't get an equivalent or better in Baton Rouge, Pamplona already being conceded as the exception.

Please elaborate, because as a Lafayette native, I just don’t see it. Only restaurant in Lafayette I make a point of going to is Pamplona. Pretty much anywhere else worth going to, I can get in Baton Rouge.

So there is no good Italian, Mexican, Central American, Asian, Indian, or American food in Baton Rouge? Is that what you guys are actually trying to sell me?

I'm not participating in the debate, but gimme some solid BR eateries. I'll be visiting soon.

Type of food, price range, and general location in the city?
ETA: And will you be eating alone, with friends, with a SO, with children?

Just list some places broken down like the other guy did for BR.

I think Laffy has a better array of food. This isnt a fact, it is an opinion!

yep. And I say this is as a baton rouge native. Im being unbiased and know how much better Laffy’s food is. A lot more diverse items and better quality. Also a popeyes buffet.
Those two posts look nothing alike. But look, if you don't want to have a discussion about it, it's no big deal

What if I want some bomb arse tacos with friends, not Rum House. Anything around between Perkins and Highland or nearby? Or just go to Rum House?

If you're looking for fun, just go to Rum House. If you want legit tacos, Lily's on Perkins and La Salvadorena on Nicholson are both very good.

Beyond that, most of the legit Mexican/Central American is around the outskirts of the city, and again, not really hang out type places.

La Fonda sucks arse from what I’ve heard. It’s super pricy too. La Hacienda is legit and better than most.
The only Mexican place that’s above everything in BR is Superior. The rest over there suck. Mexican food overall in La is very mediocre. Don’t expect to get amazing Mexican food down here. No matter where you’re at.
I think Lafayette has a little edge here but it’s not like way heads and shoulders above like people make it seem. BR has plenty of damn good places to eat. People are dumb on here and act like Br has nothing but Joes Crabshack and Chili’s.
How has nobody mentioned social?

This is what I meant, it’s a love it or hate it place. Their menu has some very mediocre stuff but also some great stuff. It’s defin not “authentic” Mexican. It’s also not expensive at all, not sure where you got that.

I’ve been once, wasn’t impressed at all. The biscuits tasted like pure flour, no salt/butter at all. Their “smoked fried chicken” was basically mediocre fried chicken with smoke flavor. Not sure what all the fuss is about.

La Fonda is supposed to have legit margaritas though. Are they like superior margs?
