I have somehow managed to never eat at Bread and Circus.

If it’s better than Charlie G’s or Marcellos I def need to check it out.

IMO, it’s the best spot in Lafayette. I may be biased because I go every week. It’s one of the only Lafayette spots that I feel like could be picked up and placed in any “hip” city around the country and survive (and thrive). They have a legit chef, and they aren’t scared to take chances. I swear people probably think that my wife and I are related to the ownership or something with how much we promote it, but it really kinda reminds us of a place that could be in New Orleans or something (and we really miss living in New Orleans).

It’s different. Super eclectic in its menu, but extremely well executed and fairly creative. It’s easily in my top five favorite restaurants in Lafayette.

B&C doesn’t have the formal atmosphere of Charlie G’s or Marcelo’s but the food is up there IMO . The restaurant has more of a hipster vibe but the clientele is a younger business crowd (at lunch time at least)

Your list is solid but definitely needs B&C and Social added to it. Social is owned by Charlie G and it is very good for what it is

I suppose I should give social another shot. Everyone but me seems to like it.

I honestly think the food is overrated, but the atmosphere is nice.

Agree. I was very excited about it when it opened, but haven't been in years.

Asians don’t eat Korean bbq, hipsters do

I suppose I was a hipster back in 2001 the first time I had it. With the Korean hipsters who were there.

Saying things are “highly overrated” is hipster-speak for “look at me, I’m contrarian”

So if that makes him contrarian, what is Lakeboy?

I’m willing to bet half these dudes saying Baton Rouge’s food scene sucks are these types.

It might have sucked 10 years ago but not in 2018. It’s a national trend. Food in cities that historically suck are getting way better. Y’all gotta get out more outside of that Lafayette bubble.
